What is Life Coaching and How Does the Process Work?

Simply put, a life coach is an experienced professional who can offer direction and assistance, validation and support for the role being performed. Coaching enhances those leadership skills you already possess and augments your repertoire to extend the range of your influence and level of achievement. It provides a point of accountability so you take yourself and your growth more seriously. Its action-based approach helps you develop the traction, momentum, and consistency needed to witness results more rapidly than you would on your own.

You bring knowledge, skills, and successful performance to the sessions, so we do not tell you how to run your business or your life. We create a space where you can more easily connect with your own solutions and initiatives for balanced success. Still, we actively coach by bringing presence, deep listening, and guidance to the process. We work with what you already know and have achieved by placing it into a different paradigm that opens you to new perspectives and options, creates a fresh action pattern, and propels you to a higher level of performance.

We are effective because we refuse to presume to know what you need, so we do not provide one-size-fits-all coaching. We conduct a needs assessment to specifically identify the unique strengths of and growth areas for your leadership and organization.

Coaching effectiveness is increased by personal relevance. Our coaching is based upon the individual issues you bring to the sessions.

After entering into a coaching relationship, we agree to specific times for our sessions. All sessions are conducted by phone to allow you location flexibility for privacy and comfort. Also, meeting by phone is efficient, saving travel and waiting time.

Throughout coaching, we partner with you to uncover and develop your talents and transform any limiting aspects of your mindset and worldview—beliefs, thoughts, emotions, attitudes, values, or behaviors—into healthier, more positive perspectives.

You take the lead in creating the agenda for each session by bringing those issues of importance to you. Based on those issues, activities are outlined for you to complete between sessions. These activities draw specifically on your strengths, areas of growth, and goals to maintain progression toward peak work-life performance. Each session begins with a review of how the activities went during the week.

As the sessions progress, you will gain greater understanding about yourself and how you interact with the world around you, be better able to assess and adapt to changing circumstances, attain more positive outcomes from your actions, and gain fresh perspectives on your relationships, activities, and projects. We will offer insights and perspectives based on what you do and do not share. Along the way, you will discover strength from your talents, learn to mindfully leverage them to expand your worldview, and design action plans to attain your evolving vision.
