TABANKHU is the complilation of five, ancient Egyptian words that literally mean, "The Land of the Heart and Soul of the Living, Shining Ones" and the website HeartLightShining.com was born.

CANDACE CROFT, PhD ~ 2007 PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR IN SPIRITUALITY & HEALTH ~ Cambridge Who’s Who

Candace A. Croft, Ph.D., President and Founder of Tabankhu, LLC, has served as an Academic Dean and department Chair and Associate Professor of Psychology teaching classes in lifespan development, transpersonal psychology, and integrative health. She also managed a wellness and integrative health center, served as director of applied health research for The American Academy of Pediatrics and The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, reviewed grants for a Fortune 500 company foundation, and practiced psychotherapy.

She has provided consultation and education/training services to individuals, couples, and parents, as well as business, education, health care, women's groups, and human service organizations focusing on human relations skills (e.g., interpersonal communication, problem-solving, conflict negotiation), behavior change, personal empowerment and transformation, and executive management.

Dr. Croft has authored books and several articles in such professional journals and popular magazines as Spirituality & Health, Sedona Journal of Emergence, Journal of Adolescent Health, Family Relations, Pediatrics, Health Values, Journal of Genetic Psychology, and Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing. She currently authors the monthly column, Living With Heart, available on this site.

As an Executive Producer and Creative Consultant, she won film awards at the Houston International Film Festival and the New York International Film Festival and has judged films at the Chicago International Film Festival. She is the member of numerous professional organizations, is the recipient of several honors, including awards for excellence in teaching, and serves as a media contact for spirituality and integrative health.

Presentations and workshops have been given before various groups, including the National Council on Family Relations, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the Association for Continuing Higher Education, the American Psychological Society, the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, the National Institutes of Health, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, as well as numerous college, church, community, and alumni groups.

Selected as a distinguished faculty lecturer, her presentation, The Shaman Within, highlighted the alchemical power of personal health. Dr. Croft has served as a textbook reviewer for child development, health psychology, filial therapy, and the journal, Pediatrics. In addition, she has served on various taskforces, committees and community boards.
